ARIAS COMPANY

ARIAS Company was founded by dancer/choreographer Bryan Arias in 2013. His passion for theater and artistic development led him to form the

company as a choreographic home to cultivate his own work. Bryan's work

strives to be relevant, forward thinking and thought provoking. Referencingaspects of modern life, he interrogates our identity and existence,

reflecting on our fears and desires through dream like settings. With a unique collective, the company formulates a distinct and diverse movement language for every production. Using a fusion of dance styles as a means of storytelling and immersing the audience into the body of work.

In the fall of 2013 the company premiered its first work 'a place where something flourishes' in New York City at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center. Performed to sold out audiences, it was reviewed as “finely crafted, and expertly danced...” (Oberon’s Grove). Recently, the company toured their second production, a full-evening work titled ‘a rather lovely thing’ which was commissioned by and premiered at the Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival. The work was reviewed as “Arias’s approach is similar to the magic mixture in Wes Anderson’s films: The silliness is graced by sincerity, and the poignancy glows with humanity” (Boston Globe).

The company has performed internationally in festivals such as The Colors Festival(Stuttgart) Danse Danse Montreal(Canada), Festival des Arts de

Saint Sauveur(Canada), Festival Siquientescena(Mexico), Pietrasanta Music Festival(Italy), and Copenhagen International Choreography Competition Gala.
