Taking it’s inspiration from an American comic book considered by critics and reviewers to be one of the most significant works of 20th-century literature, WATCHMEN by Alan Moore and artist Dave Gibbons, examines what superheroes would be like in a credible, real world. WATCH focuses on the personal development and moral struggles of modern heroes. The work interrogates “power” while reflecting on contemporary anxieties. Deconstructing the hero concept and the hero manifest within society. Questioning our trust in those of political power and raising concerns about those who trust in heroes and leaders to guard the world's fate.

This engagement is supported by Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation through USArtists International in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Howard Gilman Foundation.

WATCH was developed at Jacob's Pillow's Pillow Lab with the support of the Jacob's Pillow Fellowship at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at LIU Post.

The work explores the definition of home through themes of human condition, relationships and notions of identity. In a quartet with world renowned dancers, the work blends various styles to create a specific dance language for this production. Fabricating dreamlike atmospheres that illustrate our fears and desires, giving form to our paradoxes and using humor to loosen the grip of stereotypes.
